Burma's pro-democracy leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi said she wants to join other pro-democracy activists by using Facebook. This is the first time that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi expressed her desire to use Facebook after her previous announcement to use Twitter a few months ago.The pro-democracy icon said she finally has her first Internet connection at her Rangoon home, and while she has paid more than $1,000 to a junta-controlled company for the privilege, the connection is too slow to access social networks.
Having an intention to congratualate the Burmese iT expert and promote Burmese words world-wide, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi expressed her willingness to use "Twitter" just before her release from house-arrest. At that time, she was silent on the Facebook.
"Twitter is a Burmese word that is derived from Twot-tee Twitter which is the same meaning in English. That's why, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi wanna use my Twitter" said Daw See, a Burmese old lady who is the founder of Twitter Inc in USA. Her name "Jack Dorsey" is the corrupt-pronounciation of the original Burmese name Daw See.
Ma Zagar Bauk (her name is mistakenly pronounced as Mark Zuckerberg), another Burmese young lady, was unhappy at that time for the news about Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who was not interested in her Facebook.
"I was upset for that when I heard about Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's wish to use Twitter, not my Facebook", 26-year-old Burmese young lady told Burma Strange News. "Now, I am glad to hear that Daw Suu wants to use Facebook", she added.
