Aye Maung, Chairman of Rakhine Nationalities Development Party (RNDP) which won 35 seats in Burma's 2010 elections, told Demorcatic Voice of Burma (DVB) that he never reads daily newspapers as quoted in the following news-snippet of DVB's webpage in Burmese.
He said, "We do not read such kind of newspapers. Because, only the date of issue is correct. Many people say that nothing in the newspapers is true except obituaries. However, even such kind of news are not exactly correct. For example, some Chinese people are used to add two years- one year in the sky and one year in the hell- to the exact age of the deseased person. Therefore, we can say that even obituaries are not the true ones in the newspapers. So, why do we need to read the newspapers only to look at the dates".
