Burma's first parliamentary meetings within 22 years was due to commence at 8:55 AM this morning in Naypyidaw. However, at 8 AM of this morning, just few minutes before the opening ceremony, it is announced that the parliament was abolished.

"I am very glad to hear the news about the abolishment of the Parliament as I have not taken shower for so many days since I arrived here", an MP representing an ethnic party told BSNews. "Now, I am very happy because I can take my shower after I leave here", he said.

As a result of the closure of the parliament, it is seen that all the MPs were leaving for the airport to go back their homes!
