A senior Burmese relief officer for cyclone effected areas said that numerous buffaloes died in recent Cyclone Giri and around 200,000 cattles and buffaloes died in Cyclone Nargis in 2008.
"It happened like that because buffaloes were tied.", he said; "They can swim in water. If they are provided life-jackets to be worn in future, we could reduce their casualities in near future".
BS News reporter reported from Giri area, Burma.
