Two Burmese male sex workers have been arrested in Jomtien. The pair were arrested after a theft was reported by a French national living at the View Talay Condominium 1 complex of Thappraya Road.
Police Colonel Nunthawut Suwanla-ong (Pattaya Police Superintendent) and his team successfully arrested two Burmese men at the View Talay Condominium 1 complex in Jomtien. The pair had allegedly burgled a French national’s apartment, angry after having not been paid for sexual services rendered on the previous night.
Security at the condominium complex informed police of the incident after Mr. Louis Hazebroucq [56] a French national had made a report of the theft. Police, arriving at the scene, successfully managed to apprehend the two thieves who were still attempting to escape the scene with a significant sum of money. In total the pair had stolen some 1,410 Euro (Bt56,000) and approximately 8,000 baht from Mr. Hazebroucq’s apartment.
The two offenders, Mr. Tawan Aree [18] and Mr. Lee Yong [18], both Burmese nationals, were arrested by police and taken to the Pattaya Police Station for interrogation. Mr. Yong subsequently informed police that he had decided to steal money from Mr. Hazebroucq as he had not been paid for his sexual services the previous night.
Mr. Yong explained that upon leaving Mr. Hazebroucq’s room on Monday morning he successfully managed to pickpocket the victim’s condominium key before leaving, later returning to commit the robbery with his friend Mr. Aree. Mr. Hazebroucq stated that he had returned to his room to discover that he had lost his key. Requesting the help of condominium staff to gain access to the apartment he then found that his money had been stolen, immediately suspecting Mr. Yong.
Both offenders will now remain in police custody awaiting further judicial proceedings to commence.
